More changes could be coming to the IRS. On Feb. 26, Senate Finance Committee leaders introduced the bipartisan Taxpayer Assistance and Service Act to improve IRS operations and the taxpayer experience. The proposal includes modernizing outdated systems, expanding electronic filing and processing, enhancing online account access, and improving customer service tools, such as additional callback options and status updates. If enacted, these changes could lead to faster responses, clearer communication and a more efficient, transparent experience for individuals and businesses. Stay tuned.
