An extension gives you more time to file, not to pay. Request an extension by the original due date.
Calculated from standard rules, not a live IRS feed. State deadlines, disaster relief, overseas filers, fiscal years, and legislative changes may affect your dates.

A continuing conversation
Tax preparation looks back at a completed year. Proactive planning gives us an opportunity to discuss decisions while there is still time to evaluate alternatives. For clients with planning support, we establish a communication schedule and encourage you to contact us when a significant change is on the horizon.
A change in income, a property sale, a new business investment, or a family milestone can warrant another look at your tax picture. Timely information helps us update assumptions, explain the potential effect, and identify next steps. Meeting frequency and additional work are agreed within your service plan.
Preparation connected to your broader goals
Organized records, coordinated business and individual reporting, and clear filing instructions help create a more consistent preparation process. We use the questions that arise during preparation to inform future planning conversations, rather than treating each return as an isolated exercise.
Our focus is to help you understand your obligations, evaluate available opportunities, and plan for the cash needed to meet them. Recommendations depend on your circumstances and applicable law.
Two tools that work together
Tax planning or tax projection?
Here is the difference.
Tax projection: estimate the outcome
A projection estimates your potential tax liability using expected income, deductions, credits, payments, and other relevant assumptions. It helps answer: “If the year unfolds this way, what might I owe?”
Projections can support a review of estimated payments, withholding, and cash reserves. They should be revisited when the facts change; an estimate is not a guarantee of the final amount on your return.
Tax planning: evaluate your options
Planning examines decisions you may be able to make and their tax implications. It helps answer: “What should we consider before moving forward?” Depending on your situation, discussions may include business purchases, retirement contributions, charitable giving, ownership changes, or the timing of a transaction.
We consider eligibility, documentation, deadlines, cash flow, and your broader goals. A projection can then help compare the potential outcomes of the alternatives.
A practical example
If you expect higher business income, a projection can estimate the effect on your tax liability and payments. Planning goes further: we discuss upcoming purchases, retirement funding, and other relevant choices before you commit. An updated projection helps quantify the options without assuming that every strategy is available or appropriate.
Proactive support
Bring us into the conversation early.
Business and owner coordination
Review how business performance, compensation, distributions, and entity arrangements connect with the owner’s individual tax picture. Major changes deserve a discussion before implementation, with legal and other advisors involved where appropriate.
Payments and cash flow
Assess expected income and payments already made, revisit withholding or estimated-tax needs, and plan cash reserves. Changes during the year can make earlier assumptions outdated.
Transactions and life changes
Discuss a property sale, business transition, retirement, new income source, or family change while there is time to gather information and evaluate the tax implications.
Year-end preparation
Review open questions, documentation, and time-sensitive decisions before the year closes. Advance organization helps make filing season more productive and gives planning decisions the attention they need.
Research and professional judgment
Current research.
Thoughtful use of technology.
Complex tax issues require research grounded in the facts and current authority. We use tax research resources and technology to support analysis, organize information, and explore questions that need closer attention.
Where appropriate, AI-assisted tools can support the research process. Their output must be checked against authoritative sources and reviewed by a tax professional before it informs a recommendation. Technology supports professional judgment; it does not replace it.
We explain the relevant assumptions, uncertainties, and documentation needs so you can understand the reasoning behind the options discussed.
